The Privacy Policy Khaltate Perfumes Inc., owner of the Khaltate Perfumes brand, knows and understands that your privacy is important.  This Privacy Policy sets out our privacy practices that apply when you make visits to boutiques or stores that we own and operate or use any Khaltate Perfumes branded website, (or accesses our branded website with devices), use digital in-store kiosk, or use other Khaltate Perfumes online services or platform, as well as our other interactions with you, including on third-party platforms (such as social media). 

There are occasions where Khaltate Perfumes may collect, use or disclose personal information in connection with an order or visit to a local boutique. For example, Khaltate Perfumes may run promotional offers and may collect personal information for the purposes of administering such offers. Such as the following:  

1. The Collection and Use of Personal Information - We may collect and use personal information when you: (i) Buy or use our products, including when you visit a boutique or order a product through our online process and delivery (ii)Create an online account or subscribe; or sign up to participate in online contests or event (iii)Sign up to receive promotions and offers (iv)Participate in any reward programs (v)Sign-up to receive marketing emails such as newsletters (vi)Participation in community events or initiatives or fundraisers (vii) Donate to one of our community initiatives or fundraising drives for charity (viii)Apply for a job at Khaltate Perfumes Inc. (ix)Contact us with: comments, questions, complaints (x)In boutiques: When you purchase a product from us, we may collect and use personal information, including (a)Payment information: If you pay with cash, we do not collect personal information associated with your transaction (unless you enter a contest or donate to one of our community initiatives or charity, or make a request). If you pay using another payment method, (e.g., credit card, debit card), we may collect your payment method details (e.g., card number, expiry date etc.) for the purposes of processing your payment. 

2. Personal information collected through our in-store surveillance: In all of our boutique locations operated by Khaltate Perfumes Inc., we use closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras for security, fraud prevention, incident reporting, and shrinkage and loss-prevention purposes. 

3. Using our Website or any third party selling platform or social media to purchase a product:  we may collect and use personal information such as your name, social media handle, phone number, email address, delivery address, ordered products, and your payment information (for example, payment card number, expiry date and CVV/CVC code). This information is used to process, fulfill and deliver your request.  (a) If you purchase and send a product or an e-gift or e-gift card or an e-gift certificate to another person through our online process, we will also collect the recipient name and email address for the purpose of fulfilling your request. Please ensure that you only submit contact information for individuals you know and who would want to receive the e-gift through email delivery or delivery via Canadian postal service or courier. Please note that certain products or services made available through our Website or third party platforms, we may use, may have additional terms and conditions that may apply when creating an online account. 

(b)When you create an account to use our online services (e.g., making online purchases or enrolling in contests or requesting rebates, promotions, or other information), you may be required to provide personal information; such as: your name, email address, birth date. We use this information to create and administer your online account, complete your orders, and facilitate your participation in contents or promotions.  

4. We also may collect information about the products you buy, including where and how frequently you buy them, and your use of vouchers, and coupons. 

5. We may also collect information about the device you use: such as; (a) Hardware, model, IP address, other unique device identifiers, operating system version, and settings of the device you use to access our services; (b) Information about the services you use (usage information), the time and duration of your use of our website, what portions of website you use, how often you use them, what links or materials (including advertising) you click when using our website, whether you open the emails we send, what materials (including advertising) you view when using our website, whether you make a purchase after seeing or clicking advertising we produce, the search terms you use, and other information about your interaction with content offered through our website, and any information stored in cookies and similar technologies that we have set on your device. 

(c)Location information such as your computer’s IP address or general location (e.g. city/town/province/country) or with your expressed consent, your mobile devices’ GPS-based location will be collected and used to provide you with relevant offers and specials and deals available near you; and provide you with other relevant information that relates to your location. You can adjust your location preferences at any time in your device settings.  This data includes the type of device hardware and operating system, unique device identifier, IP address, language settings, and the date and time the our servers were accessed. In addition, we may use third-party service providers to collect analytical information about your use of the Website or your mobile device, such as the feature you use and/or time spent on the Website, collectively for the purposes of helping us to improve our Website and all users online experience, and to manage and analyze data in order to better understand our users to create a better online experience.

6. We may also monitor the use of our website and services by our users in order to detect, investigate or prevent any actual or potential violation of our terms and conditions. We may generate aggregated, non-identifiable data and use such information to monitor and improve the performance, and use and stability of the website and our services.  

7. Marketing Communications. If you sign-up to receive email marketing communications from us about products, services, events, programs, promotions, and special offers that may interest you, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of each email or by changing your settings in the Preferences section of your account. Please note that you may continue to receive transactional or account-related communications from us. 

8. Promotional Contests. When you enter a contest or participate in a promotional offer, we may collect your name, address, email address, phone number, and any additional information or content required for the contest or promotion; including information required to deliver a prize to you or information that you otherwise provide, including your social media handle, profile picture and public posts or comments you make about our contest on social media networks. We use this information to administer the contest or promotion. We may also share or otherwise publish the content you submit to us as a part of a contest or promotion. 

9. Charitable Donations Initiatives and Fundraising. If you choose to participate in one of our fundraising events or activities, we may collect information such as your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, billing address, payment information, and tribute details. For specific donations, we may require additional information to facilitate the donation and we will request this information directly from you. 

10. From time to time, we may offer you the opportunity to participate in one of our surveys. The information obtained through our surveys is used in an aggregated, de-identified form. We use this information to help us understand our customers and improve our products and services. 

11. Social Media - We may offer you the opportunity to engage with our content on or through third-party social networking websites and applications. When you engage with our content in this context, the third-party social networking website or application will collect, use or disclose personal information for the purposes of enabling you to engage with our content and as otherwise set out in their privacy policies. We may also collect, use and disclose certain information made available through such websites and applications for the purposes of responding to your outreach, analyzing your interactions with our content and otherwise maintaining our social media presence. 

12. Job applications and employment. In connection with a job application or related inquiry, you may provide us with certain personal information about yourself (such as that contained in a curriculum vitae, resume, cover letter, portfolio, or similar job seeking related materials). We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities. 

13. Customer service To Respond to You. When you contact us we may collect information that identifies you (such as your name, email address, phone number and country), along with any information you provide in your communications and additional information we need to help us answer your question or respond to your comment.  We may also record phone inquiries for quality service purposes. We retain this information to assist you in the future to improve our customer service, products and services. 

14. Other information - Other Information We Collect. (a)We also may collect and use other information about you, your device, or your use of our services in ways that we describe to you at the point of collection or otherwise with your consent. 

15. The following provides information about purposes for which we may share your personal information. Our practices vary depending on the type of information and sharing. We may share information with Khaltate.ae, particularly when they work with us in delivering services to you. For example, if a customer has an issue with a product we may share your information with the manufacturer.  Or if you win a contest which includes travel services, we may share your information with air transit providers, hotels, etc.  Or if you request a niche or custom product we will share your information with our suppliers and associated partner. We also may provide our franchisees with information so that a local or our international boutiques may provide you with offers and promotions that might interest you. Please note that when you interact with our franchisees directly, they may provide you with separate notice and collect certain personal information for the purposes they identify to respond to your question, compliment, or complaint. 

16. With your consent, we may share personal information with business partners to provide you with services. For example, if you sign up for a promotion that runs on our Website or on one of our third party platforms that is sponsored or co-sponsored by a business partner, we may share the personal information specified in our request to help deliver the promotion. 

17. Service Providers. We may transfer information to companies providing services on our behalf, such as our affiliates, delivery services, hosting vendors, advertising service providers, data analytics companies, marketing service companies, and list managers. We also may share your information, including your payment information, as appropriate to process your payments for the products or services you request. Our service providers are given the information they need to perform their designated functions, and we do not authorize them to use or disclose personal information for their own marketing or other unrelated purposes. Our service providers may be located across Canada, UAE, in the U.S., or other foreign jurisdictions. 

18. When required by law or to protect our guests and legal interests and other parties or as necessary to protect our guests and services. We, and the third parties, engage (including affiliates), may use and share your personal information as we believe is necessary or appropriate to protect, enforce, or defend the legal rights, privacy, safety, or property of Khaltate Perfumes Inc., its affiliates or business partners, our employees or agents or guests, to detect, suppress or prevent fraud or where otherwise required or permitted by applicable law or legal process, including responding to a search warrant or other legally valid requests from public and government authorities (which may include lawful access by Canadian, U.S., or other governmental authorities, courts or law enforcement agencies). 

19. Other Parties in Connection with Donations and Fundraising. We may share your information with our fundraising partners when you choose to donate to one of their initiatives. 

20. Other Parties in Connection With a Corporate Transaction. We reserve the right to transfer any information we have about you in the event that we seek to sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets to a third-party, such as in the event of a merger, acquisition, or in connection with a bankruptcy reorganization or other change in corporate control. 

21.With Your Consent or at Your Direction.  In addition to the sharing described in this Privacy Policy, we may share information about you with third parties whenever you consent to or direct such sharing. 

22. Digital Advertising Types of digital technologies we may use Digital Technologies. We and other companies that provide us with advertising and other services may use cookies, web beacons, and similar digital technologies to facilitate administration and navigation of our website; to better understand and improve our services; to determine and improve the advertising shown to you on our website or elsewhere; and to provide you with a customized online experience; including by providing you with personalized content and ads that are more relevant to you. 

23. Interest based advertising practices including sharing with social media and other platforms involves the tailoring of ads you see based on your personal information, including your activity on our website. We may use third parties to serve advertisements on our website and on other websites and digital platforms. These third parties may use digital technologies to collect and use information about your visits to our website and other websites (including usage information, such as web pages or other content you interact with and your response to ads) to measure the effectiveness of our and our third-party advertiser marketing campaigns, and to deliver ads that are more relevant to you and others, both on and off our website. We may also use services provided by third parties (such as social media platforms) to serve targeted ads to you and others on such platforms. The option to opt out is always an option. 

24. Information about Cookies. “Cookies” are small files that are placed on your computer or other device when you visit a website. Cookies may be used to store a unique identification number tied to your computer or device so that you can be recognized as the same user across one or more browsing sessions, and across one or more sites. Cookies serve many useful purposes; remembering sign-in credentials; help provider understand which part of our website are the most popular. By studying this kind of information, we are better able to adapt our website and provide you with a better experience. Cookies can help us and third parties understand which ads you have seen so that you don’t receive the same ad each time you visit our website. 

If you prefer not to be recognized when you visit our website, you can always connect using an incognito browser window. You can also remove traces of your visit by clearing your browser history. 

25. Please note that if you withdraw your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal information, we may not be able to provide some or all of our services to you. 

26. Data Security - Our data retention and security practices are designed to retain personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise required to meet legal or business requirements. We have in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in an effort to safeguard personal information in our custody and control against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. We restrict access to personal information on a need-to-know basis to employees and authorized service providers who require access to fulfill their job requirements. 

27. Other Important Information about Children’s privacy - We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or such other age as specified under applicable law) without parental consent. If we learn that a child for whom parental consent is required has provided us with personal information, we will use reasonable efforts to delete it in accordance with applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the legal age of consent, and you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

28. Links to Third-Party Sites. Our website may link to third-party websites and services that we do not operate and are outside of our control. For example, advertisements appearing on our website may direct you to third parties. We are not responsible for the security or privacy of any information collected by other websites or other services. We are not responsible for the products or services offered by any third parties. Please exercise caution and review the privacy statements applicable to the third-party websites and services you use. 

29. International Information Transfer - We are headquartered in Canada; however, please be aware that information you provide to us or that we obtain as a result of your use of our services may be collected in your jurisdiction and subsequently transferred to, maintained and/or processed outside of your jurisdiction including in the United States or another jurisdiction by us or our service providers for the purposes mentioned above, in accordance with applicable law. Personal information processed and stored in another country may be subject to disclosure or access requests by the governments, courts or law enforcement or regulatory agencies in that country according to its laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information will only be used for purposes mentioned above or communicated to service providers with your consent, except where authorized by law. 

30. We may modify this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of changes by posting changes or updates, or by other appropriate means. Any changes to the Privacy Policy will become effective when the updated policy is posted on our website or any of our third party platforms. Your use of our services or your provision of personal information to use our services following such changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
